Joint Som-Ethio operation in Baladweyn town

Somali troops and their Ethiopian ally have started daybreak operation at Baladweyn town the capital of Hiran region in central Somalia.

The Ethiopian troops have entered Baladweyn town in the mid hours of Saturday night, and have stationed themselves several strategic positions in the town such as Burjada Inka which is in the suburb of the town, and dawn Saturday morning the two forces have carried out joint operation at Holwadag a section in the west of Baladweyn town which was the stronghold of the forces of Al-Shabab.

“The Somali government soldiers were on Saturday morning extra lively, and could be seen maneuvering in the entire sections of Baladweyn

and ransacking the entire of the transportation system in the town, and the Ethiopian troops are at specific places in the town such as the police station and Hotel Medina which the Ethiopian troops are on its apex and some of the significant roads which enter the town” said an independent journalists speaking to Somaliweyn radio on Saturday morning.

The arrival of the Ethiopian troops and the joint operation conducted by the Somali and Ethiopian troops is not apparent, and so far there are not reports whether people were arrested in this operation, though there are some sporadic gunshots which can heard in some parts of the town.
